Alastair McCabe is a consultant clinical oncologist at Nottingham University Hospitals specialising in head and neck cancer and skull base tumours. Prior to his medical career, he worked as a medical physicist in the NHS specialising in radiotherapy and MRI physics.

His research interests seek to combine his medical and physics backgrounds to develop clinically relevant novel applications of MRI to radiotherapy, most recently in the field of hypoxia imaging in head and neck cancer
